The Harrison Junior High basketball teams went 2-of-4 on Wednesday.

Harrison’s eighth-grade boys and the Junior Lady Goblins each earned wins over Russellville.

Meanwhile, the Junior Goblins and the eighth-grade girls for Harrison had less favorable outcomes.

In eighth-grade boys action, Harrison came from behind to win, 37-34, while the Junior Lady Goblins downed Russellvillle, 41-23.

The Harrison Junior Goblins were beaten, 38-20, while Harrison’s eighth-grade girls fell, 23-11.

Junior Boys

Harrison’s junior boys had a tough night against Russellville as they fell, 38-20.

Russellville held a 12-3 lead after the first period and led, 18-8, at the half.

The Junior Goblins found themselves in a big hole following the third quarter as Russellville’s lead increased to 33-12.

Ben Elliott scored eight points for Harrison. Kolby Stone added four, Gabe Huskey three, Cameron Miller and Josh McCormick two apiece and Rilee Jones one.

Eighth-Grade Boys

The eighth-grade boys from Harrison topped Russellville, 37-34.

Russellville led, 13-9, after one quarter of play and took a 23-16 lead at the half.

Harrison trailed, 32-25, after three quarters, but held Russellville to just two points in the fourth quarter to rally for the win.

Ethan Edwards led Harrison with 12 points. Lucas Reding added 11, Cole Keylon 10 and Bryce Bonds four.

Junior Girls

The Junior Lady Goblins blew out Russellville with a 41-23 win.

Each team put 12 points on the board in the first quarter, but Harrison pulled ahead at the half, 18-15.

The Junior Lady Goblins pulled away in the third quarter, winning the frame, 14-4, to hold a 32-19 advantage heading to the final period.

Caroline Cecil put up 12 points for Harrison. Kenzie Parker and Marion Groberg added 10 apiece, Maggie Salmon five and Sydney Shrum four.

Groberg pulled down eight rebounds while Cecil added seven.

Cecil and Shrum each dished out three assists in the game while Parker recorded three steals.

Eighth-Grade Girls

Russellville got a 23-11 win over Harrison in an eighth-grade girls matchup.

Harrison fell behind early as Russellville took a 12-1 lead through one quarter.

At the half, the Russellville lead sat at 15-7.

Each team scored four points in the third period as Harrison’s deficit was 19-11 entering the fourth quarter.

Harrison was shut out during the final frame as Russellville took the win.

Madison Bell put up eight points for Harrison. Haley Marseilles added two and Olivia Pall one.
