Friday’s baseball matchup against Stilwell, Okla. was a win on many levels for the Harrison Goblins.
The Indians had no answers on either side of the ball as Harrison cruised to an 8-0 win with senior Dylan Block throwing a no-hitter while the Goblin offense produced all the runs they needed.
Harrison’s first three batters of the game hit shots to left field for singles. Sloan Barrett, Block and Beck Jones filled the bases and Cy Madden drove in Barrett during a four-three play. Block and Jones later scored on wild pitches and the Goblins had a 3-0 edge after one inning.
The order circled back around to Barrett in the second frame and he was walked. Madden followed with a sacrifice fly that drove in Barrett to make it a 4-0 game.
Neither team rounded the bases in the third inning and Harrison went back to work in the bottom of the fourth with three more runs. Jones reached with a base on balls and then stole second. Logan Plumlee earned an RBI single to right field that sent in Jones followed by Crenwelge sending a shot to left field that put Plumlee across home plate. Crenwelge later scored on a passed ball to make it a 7-0 score through four innings. Harrison added the final insult to injury in the bottom of the fifth to put the game away after Tristan Thompson recorded a single and Kaden Quandt was hit by a pitch. Thompson’s run established the 8-0 score.
Block struck out seven batters during his complete game no-hitter without walking a single batter.
