HOT SPRINGS — The Harrison Goblins placed two runners in the top four of the Class 5A State Cross Country race.

However, it was not enough for a state title. The Goblins recorded 67 points to fall short of fellow Class 5A-West teammate Maumelle. The Hornets finished with 46 points.

Vilonia made it a one-two-three finish for the 5A-West as it scored 114 points.

The Little Rock Christian Academy won the girls Class 5A title with a 59 points finish.

Harrison was fourth in Class 5A with 115 points.

Senior Boys

There were 17 teams in the Class 5A State Cross Country Meet as the Goblins of Harrison finished second.

Maumelle won the title, Harrison was second, Vilonia was third. Little Rock Christian Academy was fourth and Magnolia was fifth. Vilonia had 114 points, Little Rock Christian 118 and Magnolia 122.

Harrison senior Seth Waters finished second in the state race. He had a 16.22 finish.

Zach Powers was fourth with a 16:37.9 and Hunter Thompson was 15th in 17:46.8

Todd Johnson was 25th overall in 18:05.1; while Tyler Wilson was 26th, 18:08.3; Josiah Phillips, 53rd, 19:14.6; Nicholas Dillon, 58th, 19:26.2; and Cy Spears, 86th, 20:30.9
There were 153 runners in the race.

Senior Girls

The Harrison Lady Goblins finished fourth in the state meet with 104 points.

Little Rock Christian won the title with 59 points and Vilonia was second with 87. DeQueen was third with 104 points and Valley View was fifth with 185.

There were 16 teams in the event and five teams that had individual runners.

Ruthy Ryan led the Harrison charge. She finished fourth in 20:50.6.

Allyson Patton was sixth in 21:05.1; Emma Pall was 23rd, 2:26.6; Maddy Wood, 47th, 23:38.1; Brooke Walker, 50th, 23:41.5; Ashtyn Mealer, 51st, 23:43.4; McKenzie Cutler, 56th, 23:55.6; Ella Brandt, 84th, 25:22.3; and Destiny Wilson, 92nd, 25:56.5

There were 147 runners in the race.
