Harrison climbs back into win column

ALMA — It was a night that Harrison football needed to get better.
After the stinging loss last week to Farmington that ended the Goblins’ 22-game conference winning streak, Harrison needed to bring everything to the field. The Goblins defeated Alma, 42-21 .
Harrison scored five times in the first half to grab the momentum.
The Goblins needed only 1:01 to score on its second possession of the game.
Dylan Block was the key target for Logan Plumlee. Plumlee hit Block three times with passes. The final two plays of the drive were pass plays of 25- and 24-yards. The shorter pass resulted in a touchdown.
Brock Bardwell gave the Goblins a 7-0 lead with the point after attempt.
After forcing an Alma fumble, Harrison had a short field.
It took four plays to score on a 5-yard pass play from Plumlee to Block.
The highlight of the drive was a 35-yard pass play to Kaden Quandt.
Bardwell made it 14-0.
Harrison's defense held Alma's offense on fourth inside the red zone.
It took 13 plays before Harrison scored on a 7-yard pass to Block.
The long drive started in the first quarter and finished in the second with 8:47 left in the first half.
Bardwell was perfect on his third PAT.
Harrison had two more scores in the first half.
Phoenix Whitney scored on a 2-yard run and then he scored from 5 yards out with 30 seconds left in the second quarter.
The Goblins led at halftime 35-7.
Both teams scored a touchdown in the third period and Bardwell gave Harrison a 42-14 with the kick.
Harrison now moves to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Airedales fall to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in 5A-West action.
The Goblins jump into a tough stretch of football. Harrison will play Greenbrier on Friday night at F.S. Garrison Stadium. The following week Harrison travels to Vilonia. Vilonia and Greenbrier were expected to give the Goblins a run to take away the league crown that Harrison has been wearing for four seasons.
Kick off on Friday is at 7 p.m.
