The regular season has come to a close for Harrison soccer.
Harrison’s girls have waltzed through the conference schedule with a perfect mark while the Goblins have finished in the middle of the pack.
On Monday night, the Lady Goblins defeated Dardanelle, 6-0, while the Goblins fell to the Sand Lizards, 2-0.
Harrison will be back in action this weekend in the 4A-West District Tournament. They will be playing at home.
Senior Girls
Harrison scored six first half goals on the way to producing a 6-0 win over Dardanelle.
With a 6-0 lead coming into the second half, the Lady Goblins shortened the length of the game with the Arkansas Good Sportsmanship Rule. The second half was only 20 minutes.
In a nine minute span, the Lady Goblins scored four goals.
Clare Barger got the scoring started with a goal after taking a header pass from Mia Barrett.
The two players traded assists as Barger had a cross that Barrett picked up for a 2-0 Harrison lead.
Barger got her second assist of the game with another cross from the right side to Olivia Pall.
Pall put the ball into the back of the net.
Senior Sydney Shrum forced the the fourth goal. In only her second game back after a knee procedure, she found Pall alone for her second goal in two minutes.
Shrum was involved with Barrett for the fifth goal. Shrum took a shot on goal that the keeper deflected to Barrett who buried the shot.
Barger shot the last goal in the final minute of the half. She scored from inside the box to put Harrison ahead, 6-0.
Sydney Hobson had another shutout in goal for Harrison. She only faced one shot on goal.
Harrison on the other hand, had 21 shots on goal. The team had only three corner kicks in this contest.
Senior Boys
Harrison battled Dardanelle to the end of the game before falling, 2-0.
Dardanelle took a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Sand Lizards scored on a shot from the right side. The shot hit the goal post, but ricocheted back into the goal for a point.
The Sand Lizards had one more score in the second half.
Grayson Dupre suffered the loss in the contest. He had 13 saves in the contest.
Harrison took nine shots on goal in the game.
The Goblins will be hitting the road for the district tournament.
