BERRYVILLE — A third-place or better finish gave athletes a trip to Nashville next week for the Class 4A State Track Meet.
Berryville has two individuals and a relay team going to state while Harrison has a relay team and an individual headed to state as well.
On Tuesday in the 4A-1 District Track Meet, Harrison finished fifth in the standings with 61 points while Berryville was sixth with 53 points.
Pea Ridge won the meet with a finish of 223 points. Shiloh Christian was second with 106.
Mathew Gilbert of Harrison finished third in the Pole Vault. He had a leap of 11-00.00.
Harrison’s 4X100 Relay team of Caden Robertson, Anthony Robinson, Broedy Cutler and Vann Richards finished third with a time of 47.33.
Berryville’s 4X800 Relay team finished second in the meet in 9:38.61. Team members included: Weston Teague, Caden Nickell, Jake Lopez and Dominic Henry.
Tun Naing Oo of Berryville was third in the Shot Put with a throw of 40-11.75.
Caden Nickell of Berryville was third in the High Jump with a leap of 5-08.00.
Harrison’s 4X200 Meter Relay team finished just outside the state qualifying. They finished fourth in 1:38.89. The team members included: Christian Horton, Kamran Bell, Andrew Langlie and Robinson.
The Goblin 4X400 Relay team was also fourth. Langlie, Richards, Robertson and Jamen Smith ran the race in 3:43.11.
Berryville had three relay teams place in the meet.
In the 4X100 the team of Saylor Dubron; Henry; Lopez and Newt Wiley finished sixth in 48.62. In the 4X200 Lopez, Dubron, Henry and Mylo Dubron were fifth in 1:42.32.
The Bobcats recorded a fifth place finish in the 4X400 Relay. Lopez, Teague, Henry and Saylor Dubron ran the race.
Robertson placed in two events. He was fourth in the 100 Meter in 12.27 and fifth in the 200 Meter in 24.52.
Horton had a fourth place finish in the Triple Jump with a leap of 39-06.50. He was sixth in the 200 Meter with a time of 24.60.
Richards had a seventh place finish in the 200 Meter in a time of 24.94.
Langlie had two individual finishes for Harrison. He was fifth in the Triple Jump with a leap of 39-06.00. In the 400 Meter he was seventh in 55.75.
Harrison’s Tyler Fields had two places in the hurdles. He ran the 300 Hurdles in 47.30 and the 110 Meter Hurdles in 19.18.
In the throw events, Harrison’s Skyler Graves threw the Shot Put, 38-11.50, for fifth place. Goblin Evan Dixon was eighth in the Discus in 98-07.00.
Berryville’s Henry placed individually in three events. He was fifth in the Pole Vault with a 10-06.00. He was sixth in the Triple Jump with a leap of 39-02.00; and sixth in the Long Jump in 19-08.75.
Saylor Dubron was sixth in the 100 Meter with a time of 12.39 and seventh in the Pole Vault with a jump of 10-06.00.
Wiley was fourth in the Pole Vault and was a stretch away from going to state. He had a leap of 11-00.00.
Dorian Dubron was sixth in the 1600 Meter. He ran the race in 5:14.22.
William Redd scored a point for the Bobcats in the Shot Put. He was eighth with a toss of 36-09.00.
