BERRYVILLE — Six first-place finishes in a track meet helps a squad in team standings.
Harrison picked up half of its points with those first-place wins on the way to a runner-up trophy in the 4A-1 District Track Meet that was held at Berryville on Tuesday afternoon.
Pea Ridge won the match with 177.50 points. Harrison was second with 121.50 while Gravette claimed third, 113.
Alex Hill, who was the high-point participant in the meet, won five events to provide 50 points for Harrison.
Hill won the 100 Meter with a time of 13:01. She also picked up wins in both hurdle events. She finished the 100 Hurdles in 16:23 and the 300 Hurdles in 49.46.
In the jumping events, she finished first in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. Hill jumped 17-07.25 in the Long Jump and 35-00.00 in the Triple Jump.
Clare Barger won the sixth event for Harrison. She jumped 5-02.00 in the High Jump.
Three other Lady Goblins and a relay team all qualified for state. A third place or better finish in any event is awarded with a trip to Nashville for the Class 4A State Track Meet on Tuesday.
Addie Jones finished second in the 3200 Meter and will represent Harrison next week. The junior finished the race in 13:23.56. She also finished fifth in the 1600 Meter in 6:05.34.
A pair of freshman also qualified for state.
Reese Ricketts finished second in the Shot Put. She threw the ball 35-01.75. She was fourth in Discus with a toss of 87-08.00
Laiklyn Stephens had a successful first track meet. She placed in five events.
Stephens qualified for state in the Triple Jump. She had a leap of 31-03.75. She also had three sixth place finishes. She finished the Long Jump with a leap of 15-06.25; Pole Vault 7-08.00; and 200 Meter, 28.54.
She was eighth in the 100 Meter with a time of 14:02.
The 4X400 Relay team finished third in 4:40.13. Team members include, Avery Davis, Carley Phillips, Madison Tramell and Maggie Cox.
Harrison had two other relay teams place. In the 4X100 the Lady Goblins were fifth in 59.23. Team members included: Chloe Hooten; Jaida Johnson; Davis and Abby Borland.
The 4X200 relay team of Hooten, Johnson, Davis and Borland finished seventh in 2:06.12.
Tramell also had two fifth place performances. She finished the 400 Meter in 1:07.04 and the 800 in 2:40.68.
