BERRYVILLE — High school soccer has seen rain, snow and sunshine this season.
On Tuesday, it was the snow side of things as Harrison visited Berryville on the pitch.
Visitors in the stands who stuck around while peering through blankets seen a pair of shutouts. Harrison controlled the opening contest as the Lady Goblins rolled to a 6-0 win over the home team Lady Bobcats.
Berryville finished the event with a 6-0 win in the senior boys game against the Goblins.
Senior Girls
Harrison’s offense stayed warm with activity on Tuesday while the defense sought heat as the soccer ball tended to gravitate to just one end of the field.
Tuesday’s contest was a typical 6-0 shutout for the Lady Goblins as they defeated Berryville.
Sophomore Clare Barger was the star of the show in the first half as she scored all three of Harrison’s goals.
The first came off a corner kick at the 38-minute mark as Barger began to warm up in the cold weather. With 25 minutes left in the first, Barger scored on a shot from the middle of the box to make it a 2-0 game.
Elise Bell had a foot in the next Harrison score by assisting to Barger with a pass up the middle of the field.
At halftime, the Lady Goblins held a 3-0 advantage.
Barger never cooled down during intermission and added her fourth goal after a crossing pass from Olivia Pall at he 23-minute mark.
Five minutes later, Bell found the back of the net with a shot from the top of the box.
The final goal came with 8 minutes remaining when Pall netted a penalty kick that set the final score.
Harrison had 24 shots on goal during the game and nine corner kicks.
Barger’s four goals led the Lady Goblins while Bell and Pall had one each.
Sydney Hobson was in the goal and registered one save.
Senior Boys
The senior boys game mirrored the girls game but the result went to Berryville as the Bobcats claimed a 6-0 win.
Berryville recorded 21 shots during the game. The Bobcats scored three goals in the first half and matched that with another three goals in the second frame.
Grayson Dupre was in the goal for Harrison and tallied 10 saves.
Harrison will host Gentry at F.S. Garrison Stadium on Thursday for Senior Day. The Lady Goblins will play the first game at 5 p.m. against the Lady Pioneers and the Goblins will kick at 7 p.m.
