The Cash Track at F.S. Garrison Stadium was covered on Tuesday with junior high track stars.
After a busy afternoon of races and jumps, the top teams stood out from the pack.
Harrison’s junior boys team won the event with 197.50 points. On the junior girls side, Yellville-Summit claimed the top spot with 163 points while Harrison took second with 118.50 points.
Junior Boys
Harrison’s 197.50 points was enough to run away from the competition. Yellville-Summit took the third spot with 84 points. Green Forest was fifth with 50 points; OMSD, sixth, 49; Omaha, seventh, 35; Bergman, eighth, 25.50; Marshall, ninth, eight; and Valley Springs, 10th, six.
The Junior Goblins won 11 events including all four of the relay races to post their points in the win. Harrison tallied points in 31 events between their athletes.
Yellville-Summit’s third-place finish and 84 points came in 17 events with a pair of second-place runs.
Green Forest collected points in 12 events while amassing 50 points in their fifth-place finish.
OMSD’s sixth-place standing resulted from points in 16 events.
Eight events earned points for Omaha to take seventh place.
Bergman’s Junior Panthers collected 25.50 points as they were in the top eight of five events.
Marshall earned a second-place result in one event to post eight points good for ninth place.
Valley Springs’ 10th place finish came from two runners earning a collective six points.
Junior Girls
The Junior Lady Panthers of Yellville-Summit collected 163 points as they finished at the top of the podium. Harrison’s home team efforts earned 118.50 points and second place. Bergman was fifth with 54.50 points; Omaha, sixth, 45.50; Green Forest, seventh, 41; Valley Springs, eighth, 38.50; OMSD, ninth, 12;
Marshall, 11th, nine; Harrison B, 12th, five; and Alpena, 13th, two.
The girls in green earned points in all but one event as Yellville-Summit took home the win with 163 points. The Junior Lady Panthers won two events while placing 29 times.
Harrison’s 118.50 points came from first-place finishes in five events and placing in 22 races and jumps.
Fifth place went to Bergman with 54.50 points. The Junior Lady Panthers won one race while placing in 14.
Omaha raked in 45.50 points and sixth place as they won two events and placed in nine.
Green Forest won three events and placed in five as they took 41 points and seventh place.
The Junior Lady Tigers of Valley Springs finished second in four events while earning points in seven and accrued 38.50 points for eighth place.
OMSD tallied 12 points and ninth place as they finished in three events.
Marshall took points in four events to tally nine points and 11th place.
Harrison B was 12th place with five points and Alpena earned two points in one event for 13th place.
