MORRILTON — Two of the top teams in Class 4A all season were Harrison and Star City.
Now the two squads will meet in the Class 4A State Basketball Tournament on Thursday.
Harrison finished the regular season with a 16-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in the Arkansas Sports Media High School Basketball Poll. The Lady Goblins were also the No. 8 team overall.
Now the Lady Goblins have a record of 19-3.
Star City finished the regular season with a 23-3 record. They won their district tournament by 30 and 28 points.
In the regional tournament, Star City won by 46, 5 and 29 points. The semifinal game where they won by five points was against Nashville.
Nashville defeated Star City early in the season. Star City has lost to Greenwood and Lake Hamilton. The team last lost on Jan. 8. They have won 18 games in a row.
Thursday's quarterfinal game will be Star City's first in the state tournament that is being held at Morrilton High School. After winning the Class 4A South Region, Star City received a bye in the first round.
Harrison opened the state tournament on Tuesday. The Lady Goblins defeated Brookland, 49-41, to advance to the quarterfinals.
The two teams will tip at 10 a.m.
