PRAIRIE GROVE — Runs came freely on Monday night in 4A-1 action in Prairie Grove.

Harrison softball visited the Lady Tigers and on the last at bat of the game, Prairie Grove secured a league win. The Lady Tigers defeated Harrison, 13-12.

The Lady Goblins entered the top of the seventh inning trailing, 12-11.

As the inning progressed, Harrison was able to tie the contest.

Harrison could not keep Prairie Grove from crossing home plate in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win.

Prairie Grove opened the game with a 2-0 lead after the first.

Harrison’s bats came alive in the top of the second and the Lady Goblins scored five runs.

The Lady Tigers scored one in the third and then added two more in the fourth to tie the game at 5-5.

Heading into the top of the fifth, Harrison got its offense rolling. The squad scored four times and looked to have gained momentum to cover the last three at bats for the Lady Tigers.

Prairie Grove had other thoughts. They capitalized on Harrison mistakes and scored seven runs.

The Lady Goblins didn’t give up. Harrison scored two more runs in the sixth to pull within, 12-11. Prairie Grove didn’t score in the bottom of the inning.

Cameron Casey and Claire Curtis each had a home run in the game.

Casey led the team with four hits. Sam Fancler, Caroline Cecil and Kaylee Wolfe each had two and Lexi Norris, Curtis and Ty Whitehorse had one.

Casey scored three times, while Whitehorse and Wolfe crossed twice and Fancler, Norris, Cecil, Shayne Gilliam and Curtis once each.

Curtis and Casey had three RBI each. Cecil had two and Wolfe, Gilliam and Whitehorse one apiece.

Cecil suffered the loss on the mound for Harrison. She struck out seven and walked one.

Harrison’s defense had 11 errors in the contest.
