CLARKSVILLE — Strong second halves have become the identity of the Harrison Goblin soccer team.

On Wednesday, the Goblins scored five second-half goals in a non-conference game with Berryville. On Friday, the team put four in the goal against Clarksville in a 4A-West game.

Harrison defeated Clarksville, 5-0. The Lady Goblins gave up a goal, but still rolled to a 6-1 win over Clarksville.

Harrison evened its conference record with a 5-0 win over Clarksville.

The Goblins are now 1-1 in a very crowded 4A-West. Harrison is now 8-4-1 overall.

Scoring a pair of goals in the first 11 minutes of the second half was the difference for the Goblins.

After taking a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal by Corbin Simpson on a cross from Hunter Holtby, Harrison senior Holtby was involved in the first four goals of the game.

The Simpson and Holtby combo worked at the 37-minute mark of the second half. Holtby then became offensive. He scored a at the 29-minute mark after taking a pass from Hunter Thompson.

At the 10-minute mark, Holtby scored his second goal of the game as Simpson was credited with the assist.

Alvaro Fernandez finished the Goblin scoring with an unassisted goal late in the game.

Rilee Jones picked up another win. He stopped all three shot attempts.

Senior Girls

Harrison’s Lady Goblins continued to roll in soccer action on Friday night. The Lady Goblins defeated Clarksville, 6-1.

Harrison used four second-half goals to win the league game.

Makayla Campbell has two shots on goal while she guarded the net. One of those shots scored.

Maggie Salmon stopped a shot in the final 20 minutes of action.

Kenzie Parker started the scoring for Harrison’s big second period. She took a pass from Elise Bell at the 28-minute mark. The same combo scored just 4 minutes later.

Grace Martin pushed Harrison to a 5-1 lead with a shot after Mattie Richardson hit her with a shot.

Richardson set the final score after taking a Brylie Parker pass.

In the first half, Brylie Parker scored twice for Harrison to give the Lady Goblins a 2-0 lead.

Harrison is now 2-0 in league play. The Lady Goblins are 11-3 overall.
