HARRISON LADY GOBLINS VS. HUNTSVILLE BASKETBALL

The Harrison Lady Goblins continued their winning ways on Friday night at Goblin Arena as they cruised past the Huntsville Lady Eagles. The Lady Goblins defeated the Lady Eagles with a final score of 54-32. With the win, Harrison remains a half game ahead of Berryville for the top spot in the 4A-1 east division race with two games left. Harrison has one league loss and Berryville has two. The Lady Bobcats have one game remaining in conference play. They play Huntsville on Tuesday night. The Lady Goblins have two games left. The team host Shiloh Christian on Tuesday night before traveling to Farmington on Friday. Harrison holds the tiebreaker in the event of a tie with Berryville. Harrison only needs to win one game to earn the regional berth and a bye to the semifinals of the 4A-1 District Tournament that will be played at Goblin Arena. To start the game Harrison jumped out to a 9-0 lead within the first 4 minutes. Caroline Cecil hit a 3-pointer to start the scoring, and then would add another field goal. Brylie Parker and Marion Groberg each added a bucket during the run. Before the period ended Groberg put in another field goal along with two free throws from Parker. The score was 13-7 after the period ended. The second quarter continued with the Lady Goblins adding to their lead. The defensive full-court press gave the Lady Eagles trouble. Kenzie Parker and Brynn Oleson each got into the scoring action by adding four free throws and a basket during the quarter. The last 3:50 of the half saw Harrison go on a 15-2 run. Sydney Shrum started the run with a 3-pointer and added two more buckets during the stretch. Harrison outscored Huntsville 23-9 in the quarter bringing the halftime score to 36-16. After the half, the Lady Goblins put the game away for good outscoring the Lady Eagles 14-5 in the third period. Coach Doug Young was able to give some minutes to the girls off the bench. Shayne Gilliam would be the only Lady Goblin to score during the period adding two free throws and one field goal. Huntsville outscored Harrison for the period 11-4, making the final score, 54-32. Brylie Parker led in scoring with 13 points, followed by Oleson with 11, Shrum nine, Kenzie Parker and Groberg six each, Cecil five, and Gilliam four.
