In soccer, 2-0 halftime leads are not always safe.

However, Tuesday night at F.S. Garrison Stadium, Harrison moved ahead of Greenwood in both games before claiming a 4-0 shutout win in the girls contest and a 4-1 win over the Bulldogs in boys action.

Senior Girls

The Lady Goblins claimed a 6A/5A-1 championship with the 4-0 win over Greenwood.

Harrison led 2-0 at halftime and then doubled its scored in the second half.

With the win, the Lady Goblins are 15-2-3 on the season. The finish blended conference play with a 7-1 mark.

The Lady Goblins will begin 5A-West District Tournament play on Tuesday as the No. 1 seed from the west side of the conference. The squad will face the winner of the Clarksville game against Greenbrier or Vilonia. Greenbrier and Vilonia will be the No. 2 seed from the east.

Harrison will play at 1 p.m. in the tournament that is being held at Greenbrier High School.

Against Greenwood, Harrison started with a freshman-to-freshman combination. Sydney Shrum took a pass from Bryann Oleson to score.

Oleson scored the second goal as she took a pass from Maddie Richardson for the goal.

In the second half, Stella Krone and Shrum each notched a goal in the final 20 minutes of play. Krone scored on a penalty kick while Shrum was assisted by Brylie Parker for the last score of the night.

Greenwood had five shots on goal. All were saved by MaKayla Campbell as she pitched another shutout.

Senior Boys

Harrison picked up its seventh win of the season with a 4-1 victory over Greenwood.

Rilee Jones was in the goal for Harrison. He saved 10 shots on 11 tries by the Bulldogs.

With the win, Harrison raises its record to 7-10-4. The Goblins are 3-5 in blended conference play.

Harrison will be back in action on Monday at 3 p.m. They will play Morrilton in the 5A-West District Tournament that will be held in Greenbrier.

The Goblins come into that contest as the No. 2 seed from the west side of the conference.

If Harrison wins its opening game of the tournament, they will face Greenbrier at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Scoring for the Goblins against Greenwood was Rodrigo Rios. He took a pass from Corbin Simpson to score the first goal of the game.

The second goal for Harrison was scored by an errant kick from a Greenwood player.

In the second half, Sidney Bailey scored on an penalty kick and Max Payne took a pass from Hunter Thompson to account for the goal.
