GREENWOOD — Harrison put three points on the scoreboard in both of its soccer matches on Tuesday at Greenwood.

Fortunately, that was enough to post wins. Harrison’s Lady Goblins defeated Clarksville, 3-0, and Harrison defeated Greenwood, 3-1, in boys action.

On Monday, Harrison’s girls defeated Clarksville in a game, 4-0, while the Goblins fell, 2-1, in penalty kicks. The Clarksville games were moved from last Friday until Monday.

Senior Girls

Harrison moved its record to 9-7-1 with a pair of wins.

Against Greenwood, the Lady Goblins put three goals in the net as they defeated the Lady Bulldogs, 3-0.

Liz Shirley scored on a corner kick from Brylie Parker to give the Lady Goblins a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Claire Doshier took another corner kick from Parker to make it a 2-0 game.

The last goal of the game came from Grace Martin.

Lady Goblin keeper Makayla Campbell saved all three shots on goal.

Harrison finished with a 6-2 blended conference record.
On Monday, the Lady Goblins defeated Clarksville, 4-0.

Kaitlyn Pratt scored on a free kick. The second goal of the match came from Josie Rudelis on a pass from Parker.

Kenzie Parker scored the third goal and Shaylee Cagle scored the final goal on a Brylie Parker corner kick.

Campbell stopped both Clarksville shot’s on goal.

Senior Boys

Harrison scored two goals in the first half on its way to recording a 3-1 win over Greenwood.

With the win, the Goblins move to 4-11-1 on the season and 1-7 in the blended conference.

Max Payne and Vitor Fassbinder each scored in the first half as Harrison held a 2-1 lead. Payne’s score came on a corner kick from Quintin Cone. Fassbinder’s score came on an assist by Kaden Thomason.

Braeden Boren scored Harrison’s goal in the second half. He scored on a corner kick from Payne.

Kaden Jones saved six of seven shots. Fassbinder came in the box on a penalty kick and didn’t save the shot.

On Monday, Harrison had a chance to earn a state berth. However, the Goblins came up short in penalty kicks and lost, 2-1.

Cone was the first player up for Harrison. He scored to make it 1-1. Clarksville missed its second shot, but Kaden Thomason came up short on his kick.

Clarksville made its third kick as the Panthers took a 2-1 lead as Zach Kelly missed.

The Panthers took a 3-1 lead on their fourth kick. Micah Ford kept Harrison’s hopes alive with a made goal.

Having a chance to put the contest away on its fifth kick, Clarksville missed, giving the Goblins a chance. However, Tanner Curry’s attempt was unsuccessful, giving Clarksville a victory.

Harrison’s goal in the match came from Kelly on a pass from Boren.

Jones made 20 saves out of the 21 shots on goal by Clarksville.
