The weather got cold over the weekend and the Harrison offenses did as well.

In the annual ReMax Cup held at F.S. Garrison Stadium, the Harrison Goblins earned a 2-1 victory over Maumelle on Friday night before falling, 2-0, to Dardanelle on Saturday morning.

The Lady Goblins were topped by Maumelle, 3-2, on Friday night before getting shutout Saturday morning, 3-0, by Cabot.

Senior Boys

Harrison picked up a ReMax Cup victory and a conference win with a 2-1 final over Maumelle on Friday.

Maumelle struck quick as it put the first goal on the board in the opening minutes of the match.

With time winding down in the first half, Braeden Boren made a run at the Maumelle goal before being taken down in the box.

With time expired, Harrison was awarded a penalty kick to close the half.

Zach Kelly took the penalty kick for the Goblins and he beat the Maumelle keeper with a shot in the top-right corner to tie the game.

Maumelle got a scoring opportunity at the 28:30 mark with a point blank shot on goal, but Harrison keeper Rilee Jones made the save to keep the game knotted at 1-1.

Just 4 minutes later, the Goblins would take a lead.

Vitor Fassbinder took a crossing pass from Hunter Holtby at the right corner of the Maumelle goal and took the shot.

Fassbinder’s shot went off the right post, but he collected his own rebound and put the ball past the Maumelle keeper at the 24:20 mark to give Harrison a 2-1 advantage.

Maumelle got one last chance to even the score as the final seconds ticked off the clock.

A Maumelle player got a break on Harrison’s goal. Jones came out of the net to make a play on the ball.

As the two players came together, the ball bounced over Jones and toward the Harrison goal.

Senior Quintin Cone sprinted in to dive and knock the ball away before it crossed the goal line, saving the Harrison lead as the final seconds ran off the clock.

Jones stopped 15-of-16 shots on goal in the contest.

Harrison then took on Dardanelle on Saturday morning, falling, 2-0.

Senior Girls

The Harrison Lady Goblins suffered a pair of losses over the weekend, starting with a 3-2 loss to Maumelle on Friday.

Harrison got on the board with a quick score from Stella Krone to open the game.

The Lady Goblins extended their lead with 13:05 to play in the first half when Brylie Parker blasted a shot from the left side, beating the Maumelle keeper to the top-right corner of the net.

Harrison would take a 2-0 lead into the half.

Maumelle got its first goal of the game with 30:05 showing on the clock.

Harrison keeper Makayla Campbell made a diving save at the 4:20 mark to maintain the one-goal lead.

Maumelle would get the game-tying goal just a minute later on a corner kick.

With the Lady Goblins on their heels, Maumelle put its third goal on the board with just 1:53 remaining in the match.

Harrison was unable to get the tying goal in the final two minutes as Maumelle took the win.

On Saturday morning, the Lady Goblins were unable to get on the scoreboard as Cabot took a 2-0 victory.
