It was an easy night for the Harrison Junior Goblins from the second period on.

Harrison defeated Rogers Heritage, 43-24, on Thursday night during a home contest.

The Harrison Junior Lady Goblins also picked up a win over Heritage, 41-31.

Junior Boys

Harrison topped Heritage, 43-24, in junior boys play on Thursday.

Heritage kept it close through the first quarter as Harrison held an 11-7 lead.

The Junior Goblins held their opponents to a single point in the second frame as the Harrison lead grew to 20-8.

Heritage cut into the Junior Goblin lead during the third quarter as the score sat at 26-18 with one period to play.

The fourth quarter was all Harrison as the Junior Goblins put 17 points on the board to seal the victory.

Ben Elliott scored 16 points to lead Harrison. Gabe Huskey added nine, Colten Shaver six, Rilee Jones five, Josh McCormick, Garrett Underdown and Cameron Miller two apiece and Keaton Brown one.

“It was probably the best we’ve played all year,” Harrison head coach Josh Manes said of the win. “It’s nice to finally start looking like a team and executing. Our defense wasn’t great at times and we missed a lot of easy one. But, we played smart basketball. I was really pleased with how we played.”

Junior Girls

Harrison’s Junior Lady Goblins started strong and it helped the team grab a 41-31 win over Heritage.

The Junior Lady Goblins took a 10-5 lead after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was all Harrison as the Lady Goblins won the frame, 15-2, increasing their lead to 25-7.

Heritage got its offense going in the third quarter as the team put 16 points on the board, cutting the Harrison lead to 30-23.

Harrison put the game on ice hitting 8-of-10 free throws.

Kenzie Parker and Marion Groberg scored 11 points apiece for Harrison. Caroline Cecil added nine, Sydney Shrum four and Maggie Salmon, Shelby Oswald and Madison Bell two each.
