HARRISON, BERRYVILLE INVADE BATESVILLE ON THURSDAY

When it comes to the postseason in Class 4A, Batesville is the place to be. Batesville will be hosting the Class 4A State Soccer Tournaments, the Class 4A State Baseball Tournament and the Class 4A State Softball Tournament. This is Harrison’s first trip into Class 4A after the realignment. The events will be spread from across the community as Batesville Southside and Batesville High School will work together to host the events. advertisement Harrison sports fans will be in a quandary as to which Goblin Nation team to follow. The Lady Goblins will be playing soccer at 9 a.m. The baseball team takes the field at 10 a.m. and the Goblin soccer team plays at 11 a.m. Getting to the state tournament in soccer was a roll for the Lady Goblins. In the past three seasons, the team has won two Class 5A state titles and finished last season in the semifinals. Harrison will face Batesville. The Lady Pioneers finished four in the 4A-North. Harrison’s boy soccer team will be in action at 11 a.m. Opposite Brookland, the Goblins will be hoping to continue riding their nine-game winning streak. Finishing tied for the 4A-West title, Harrison had to fight through the district tournament to earn the top seed. Harrison defeated Dardanelle in penalty kicks in the finals to avenge their only conference loss of the season. The baseball team will be making a trip back to the state tournament. The Goblins will be facing Camden Fairview. After finishing second in the 4A-1, the Goblins finished the Class 4A North Region in third place. That third place finish got the Goblins a date with Camden Fairview. The Cardinals were fourth in the Class 4A South. The winner of this game will play Valley View on Friday at 10 a.m. There are only 12 teams in the state baseball tournament. The Berryville Lady Bobcats will be in action at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Berryville was the Class 4A State Soccer Tournament runner-up last season. This season the Lady Bobcats finished third in the district tournament. Brookland will be the opponent for Berryville. Brookland finished second in the 4A-East.
