HARRISON SOCCER VS. GENTRY

The postseason is in sight for the Harrison soccer teams. Both squads faced Gentry on Tuesday night at F.S. Garrison Stadium. Both teams took care of business in producing a pair of wins. The Lady Goblins won their match, 7-0, while the Goblins were victorious, 5-0. With the win, the Lady Goblins stay tied on top of the 4A-West standings. They share the top spot with Prairie Grove, who will meet the Lady Goblins on Friday night. The game will be held at Prairie Grove. The winner of the conference championship will receive a first round game against the winner of the No. 8 and No. 9 game. This game will be played on the home field of the higher seed. Berryville will be the host sight for the semifinals and finals of the district tournament. Clarksville and Shiloh Christian are tied for third place in the league standings. They are two games behind Harrison and Prairie Grove. Harrison’s boys are currently in a tie with Prairie Grove for second place. Dardanelle is leading the league with a 6-0 record. The Goblins and Tigers and 4-1 just a half game ahead of Clarksville. Senior Girls The Harrison Lady Goblins rolled seven balls into the goal on the way to posting a 7-0 win over Gentry. With the win, Harrison moves to 15-3-1 overall and 5-0 in league standings. Kenzie Parker started the hot foot for Harrison. The junior scored at the 36, 32 and 29 minute marks of the game. When Parker cooled off, Olivia Pall scored the next two goals followed by the sixth goal of the game from Rylee Richardson. Pall finished the night with a hat trick as she scored with just over 5 minutes left to set the final score. Makayla Campbell picked up the win in goal. She played the first half of the contest before Maggie Salmon took over after a shortened game due to the Arkansas Good Sportsmanship Rule. Senior Boys The Goblins continued top keep pace with the leaders in the 4A-West. On Tuesday night, they defeated Gentry, 5-0. Harrison’s win keeps the Goblins in a second-place tie in the conference standings at 4-1. The team is 11-4-1 overall. Max Payne led Harrison in goals. He had two. His first came with 30:12 left in the first half. His second goal was early in play in the second half. Kaden Jones scored from the left side and Hunter Holtby scored to make it a 3-0 game at halftime. Hunter Thompson put the last ball in the net for Harrison at the 13-minute mark. Rilee Jones was in goal for the Goblins as he picked up the win.
