Dardanelle is one of the top teams in Class 4A.

With Harrison’s move down to Class 4A, the Goblins and Lady Goblins got a good test of where the teams stand against the classification.

At F.S. Garrison Stadium on Friday in the first conference games of the season, the Goblins lost a hard fought contest, 2-1, while the Lady Goblins rolled to a 5-0 win.

Senior Boys

All of the scoring took place in the second half as Harrison fell to Dardanelle, 2-1.

Harrison took the lead early. Just 5 minutes into the second half, Hunter Holtby found the back of the net with a shot after taking a pass from Jacob Shrum.

Momentum turned away from Harrison. The Sand Lizards scored just 5 minutes later and with 17:30 left in the game, the Goblins fell behind 2-1.

Harrison could not score to tie the contest in the closing minutes.

Rilee Jones suffered the loss in goal. He had three saves on five shots.

With the loss, Harrison falls to 6-3-1. The team is now 0-1 in the 4A-West.

Senior Girls

Harrison won its first conference game of the season, 5-0, over Dardanelle.

It was a solid second half that generated the win. Harrison scored four goals in the second half.

Sydney Shrum assisted on the first two goals that were put in the net. Brylie Parker scored the first goal and Kenzie Parker the second one.

Claire Doshier scored the last two goals of the game. She scored the first on a pass from Brylie Parker. The second came on a Brylie Parker corner kick.

Harrison led 1-0 at the end of the first period. Kaitlyn Pratt scored on an unassisted goal.

Makayla Campbell was in the net for Harrison for 66 minutes. Maggie Salmon recorded the last 14 minutes in the combined shutout win.

Harrison is now 8-3 overall. The Lady Goblins are 1-0 in league play.
