Four points in any quarter does not lead to success.

Friday night against Pottsville, the Goblins were not able to generate offense as the squad fell, 51-45, to the Apaches.

The first period saw the Goblins build leads of six points and five points. Pottsville scored the opening bucket of the game, but the Goblins scored the next eight points.

Carson Journagan started the scoring with a steal and a layup. Dustin Gundry hit Journagan with a pass that led to a 4-2 Harrison lead.

Journagan scored the third bucket as well before Jayce Martin gave the Goblins an 8-2 lead with 4:58 to go.

Tying the game at 10, Pottsville scored an 8-2 run of their own with Ben Elliott accounting for Harrison's only points during the stretch.

Jacob Shrum hit a trey and Gundry scored after taking a pass from Elliott.

A Martin offensive putback gave the Goblins a 17-12 lead.

Pottsville scored the next six points to take an 18-17 lead at the end of the first period.

Journagan scored the first basket of the second period after collecting an offensive putback. He scored with 6:43 left in the half.

Harrison didn't score again until Journagan scored with 1:06 left. It was the only four points of the second period for Harrison.

Pottsville moved ahead, 28-21. Harrison tied the contest with a Martin bucket and two free throws and a Shrum trey.

Elliott tied the contest again at 30 with a basket.

Pottsville went on to a 38-33 lead after three periods.

The Goblins have had successful fourth periods and have come from behind to record wins.

It appeared Harrison was going to do it again.

After falling behind 44-36, Harrison made a run.

Elliott gave the Goblins life with a trey. Just 16 seconds later Shrum hit a long bomb from the right side of the key to make it a 44-42 contest with 2:24 remaining.

Pottsville held the basketball for the next minute before the Goblins forced a jump ball. The Apaches had possession and was taking the ball out of bounds. Harrison forced a 5-second call to get the ball back.

A turnover gave the ball back to Pottsville forcing Harrison to foul.

The Apaches increased their lead to 46-42 with 1:05 left. That lead increased to six points.

With 27.4 seconds left, Elliott drained a trey from the corner to make it a one-possession game.

Pottsville only hit 3-of-8 free throws in the final 24.4 seconds to put the final points on the board.

Tuesday night, Harrison returns to 4A-1 action hosting Berryville.

Elliott led Harrison in scoring with 14 points. Shrum pumped in 11, Journagan 10, Martin eight and Gundry two.
