Sophomore Cara Davis scored more than half of Russellville's first-half points as the Lady Cyclones took out the Harrison Lady Golden Goblins 55-26 on Tuesday inside Cyclone Arena.

"She was on fire," Russellville head coach Sherry White said. "It was like she picked up right where she left off Friday."

Davis played a key role in the Lady Cyclones win over the Alma Airedalettes on Friday, where she hit six 3-pointers in the second half, including one to put Russellville on top with around eight seconds left in the game.

On Tuesday, Davis scored 15 in the first half alone.

"It was nice to see that," White said. "Sometimes I'm afraid to say too much about it. I don't want to jinx or get her head too big. She needs to stay humble, but she has done a great job learning her role on the team."

The Lady Cyclones went on a 8-0 run in the first quarter with shots falling from Davis and Anna Myers. Russellville led 12-7 after one. By halftime it was up 27-13 on the heels of an 8-0 and 10-0 runs -- this time with buckets coming from Carter Murphy, Makayla Ealy and Davis.

An 11-0 run in the third led to a 44-19 lead by the end of the quarter. Russellville outscored Harrison 17-4 in the third quarter.

White said fundamentals and defense were key elements to the Lady Cyclones victory.

"Our defense did a lot of great things, really," she said. "A lot of deflection. We've been really stressing that in practice -- getting our hands on the ball more without reaching.'

Davis finished the night with 18 points, including two 3-pointers. Myers scored 10 points, while Zee McCallister scored eight points. Ealy added seven points.

Russellville improved to 6-8 overall and 3-0 in the 5A/6A-West Conference. It hosts Beebe on Friday inside Cyclone Arena to cap a three-game home stint.
