HARRISON SENDS SILOAM SPRINGS HOME, 3-1

Goblin Arena was buzzing on Thursday night as a battle with Siloam Springs in volleyball was looming. Harrison continued its undefeated season as the team downed the Lady Panthers, 3-1. The Lady Goblins’ scores were 25-18, 25-16, 14-25, 25-18. Siloam Springs claimed the junior varsity match, 2-1. Harrison bounced back after a sluggish third set. The Lady Goblins had recorded six offensive points in the third set and came back in the fourth to record 21 in the fourth set. Opening the fourth set, Harrison scored its first 12 points because of its offensive work. Julianna Cramer started the set with an ace. That was followed by a Katelynn Grant kill. Cramer then added a backline tip that was followed by another Grant kill to tie the set at 4. Grant continued her hitting with a third kill of the set. It also gave Harrison a lead that it didn’t give up. Lindsey Choate had a kill in the middle after an overpass by the Lady Panthers. Later Choate had a quick from Jenna Martin. Grant made it an 8-5 contest before Martin had a kill to push the lead to 9-7. Mattie Richardson found floor from the left side and Izzy Gibbany had two straight aces to make it a 12-7 game. Cramer served up another ace and then set Brooklin Edwards. Edwards scored with a spike and after Cramer served up one more ace, the Lady Goblins had doubled up Siloam Springs, 16-8. Harrison pulled away from Siloam Springs in the opening set. Grant had an ace and Martin had a backline kill. A Kara Dickey kill, a block from Edwards and a Gibbany ace put the Lady Goblins ahead, 13-7. The Lady Goblins were holding a 14-11 lead when they rolled off the next six points. Cramer had a kill and two aces. Martin had a tip and kill and Edwards a block as the Lady Goblins built a 20-11 lead.
