HARRISON FIRE POWER TOO MUCH FOR GREENWOOD

Adios, Bulldogs. The Greenwood Bulldogs took the floor at L.T.’s Court and were sent packing when the night was done. On Tuesday night, the Harrison Goblins sent the Greenwood Bulldogs down the road with a 70-52 loss while the Lady Goblins also picked up a victory, 48-36. Senior Boys Harrison never trailed on its way to a 70-52 drumming of Greenwood. After taking a 20-15 lead after one period, the Goblins began to build their lead in the second quarter. Jake Wynn hit a layup for Harrison to start the second quarter and Nathan Jenkins added another on a feed from Tanner Curry. Curry would get the next two Goblin scores to offset a pair of Greenwood baskets. With 3:36 to play in the first half and a 28-23 lead, the Goblins began a 10-0 run. Trevor Atwell scored in the paint and then added a tip-in to start the streak. Skyler Young took a pass from Curry and scored on a reverse layup which was followed by a layup from Jackson Marseilles. Braeden Boren put the finishing touches on the run with a score at the basket with 39 seconds to play. Greenwood would get the final bucket of the half to set the Harrison lead at 38-25. The Bulldogs would get within 10 points during the third quarter, but another 10-0 run by the Goblins carried over into the fourth quarter. Atwell opened the scoring run with a bucket at the 2:14 mark of the third and later added a free throw. Young would connect on a three-point play and Noah Ditmanson picked the pocket of a Greenwood player and streaked down the floor for a bucket. Ditmanson’s basket set the score at 57-39 to start the fourth quarter. Harrison would hit 7-of-9 free throws in the final quarter to polish off the win. The Goblins started the game with a bang when Atwell took a pass from Curry and finished with a flush at the rim. After a Marseilles layup, Boren would connect with Atwell on an alley-oop for the senior’s second dunk in just 2:16 of play. The Goblins would score every bucket of the first quarter at the rim as every make came on a dunk or a layup. Atwell led Harrison with 15 points. Marseilles added 10, Boren, Curry and Young nine apiece, Nathan Jenkins seven, Ditmanson and Wynn four each and Chris McCuistion three.
